The horror-comedy Burke and Hare, directed by John Landis, may have a new addition to the cast: Dan Aykroyd.

Ealing Studios, represented at the American Film Market, broke the news this week. However, they stress Aykroyd's involvement is "subject to contract."

If Aykroyd becomes locked, he'll join Simon Pegg, David Tennant and Bill Nighy (incredible line-up, if we do say so).

Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, William Burke and William Hare is based on a true story and follows two 19th-century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing dead bodies for an Edinburgh medical school.

Shooting is expected to begin in January.
