Hardy's Cowboys for Christ Rides On!

It's been over a year since we've heard anything about Cowboys for Christ .

Reports in early 2008 said director Robin Hardy's "companion piece" to his 1973 chiller The Wicker Man had lost its funding shortly before shooting was to begin in Scotland with Christopher Lee and Joan Collins leading the cast. Things are picking back up for Hardy. Sources tell us a bit of shooting has already taken place in Texas and Hardy is currently in production in Scotland!

Now, according to the IMDB, the film still stars Lee, as Sir Lachlan Morrison, and includes Ed Speleers ( Eragon ), Susie Amy ( Lesbian Vampire Killers ), Henry Garrett, Keith Warwick and Morgan James.

James and Speleers play Beth and Steve, respectively, Texas Christians on a mission to spread the word of the...

Update: Predators Director Confirmed By Rodriguez

Update: According to The Hollywood Reporter Alex Litvak and Michael Finch are writing the script.

Harry Knowles gave a ring to Robert Rodriguez to get confirmation on who's at the helm of Predators , 20th Century Fox's next film in the franchise. And it is Nimrod Antal, the man behind the upcoming action flick Armored and who last dabbled in the thriller genre with Vacancy . You'll recall Latino Review broke Antal's potential involvement here .

Speaking exclusively to AICN, Rodriguez, who is shepherding the project, says the story involves "a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors - that are not always from outside their group. So like the original movie, the title does have a double meaning. Aliens was a...

Piranha 3-D Set Visit: Greg Nicotero Interview

Piranha 3-D may be the bloodiest film you'll see next year. And behind the carnage is none other than KNB EFX, reuniting with director Alexandre Aja for a third time after 2006's The Hills Have Eyes and last year's Mirrors , both of which offered audiences a generous amount of punctured craniums, slit throats and hacked limbs. None of this compares to the gore-covered canvas KNB's Greg Nicotero, his team and Aja are playing with this time.

Within the on-set Piranha FX trailer utilized by Nicotero, Jake Garber, Mike McCarty and Carey Jones one finds corpses and sundry body parts in various stages of consumption - chewed up by the film's titular fish which will be created practically by KNB and CGI visual effects supervisor Derek Wentworth's crew. "In my 500 homages to...

Confirmed Exclusive: Resident Evil 4 Arriving in Late 2010

Update: We have just received confirmation - the release date is true!

In spite of what any of the talent involved in Resident Evil: Extinction told us during the press tour (mostly, "this is the final chapter"), the film left the door wide - and we mean WIDE open - for a fourth installment.

Late last year, Paul W.S. Anderson revealed he was indeed writing another film. Capcom was getting involved. Everyone, as he said, was "excited." Well, we've just learned from a studio insider that Sony is looking to get Resident Evil: Afterlife into theaters by September 17, 2010. That's according to an internal memo circulating through the offices there.

Will Anderson direct? Unsure. Will Milla Jovovich be back? I think it would be safe to say yes...

Sony would need to begin lensing on Resident Evil: Afterlife if they hope to make the September 17, 2010 release date we announced yesterday .

Jennifer's Body Gets MPAA Rating

Jennifer's Body could have gone either way. Embrace the teen angle and aim for a younger audience with a PG-13 rating or go balls-out with its story about a hot cheerleader (in this case, Megan Fox) that gets possessed and devours boys whole. Thankfully, director Karyn Kusama went the latter route and scored an R rating with the MPAA for "sexuality, bloody violence, language and brief drug use." Rejoice. The Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, J.K. Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Kyle Gallner and Josh Emerson-starring film opens September 18th.

Meadows Scares Up Rights for Beware the Devil

Filmmaker Shane Meadows ( Dead Man's Shoes ) is going to raise a lil' hell with his next film, Beware the Devil .

He tells Empire Magazine, "It's based on a book of the same name, based on the life of a guy who, by getting involved with Ouija boards and the occult by trying to disprove it, trying to take the piss out of it, got possessed, had to be exorcised, and later became an exorcist himself. The guy it happened to has died, but his son's a novelist, and he helped him turn it into a book before he passed away, and now I'm working with him to turn it into a film."

Piranha 3-D Set Visit: Alex Aja Interview

"My heart is beating out of my chest," enthuses French filmmaker Alexandre Aja. The reason behind the increased heart rate? He's on the 38th shooing day of Piranha 3-D - his big budget update of Joe Dante's 1978 Jaws rip-off - and things are going swimmingly well, no pun intended. Beneath unkempt, sand-colored hair, the High Tension director's eyes intensify when he rattles off the cast he has to work with this time: Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Jessica Szohr, Steven McQueen, Adam Scott, Jerry O'Connell and, sink your chompers into this...a cameo by Richard Dreyfuss, bearing a slight resemblance to his Matt Hooper persona in Steven Spielberg's aforementioned classic.
