More Ghostbusters 3 Talk with Ramis

April 6, 2009

Ghostbusters 3 is coming. Harold Ramis said a week ago that everybody was coming back...along with a few new recruits. But what will it be about and how far off are we from seeing it?

"Even if there was a great script by the end of the summer, it would be a year before [we could go into production]," Ramis tells EW. Gene Stupinksy and Lee Eisenberg of The Office are penning the new Ghostbusters adventure which, Ramis says, will not be connected to the "Ghostbusters Go to Hell" premise that Dan Aykroyd was kicking around in the '90s. "As soon as Danny said it, I thought that was really funny. But now there's a new concept. And it's interesting, beyond the kind of mythology of it, there’s a personal story that's pretty grounded."

I hope they bring Slimer back. It won't be The Ghostbusters without Slimer!

I will see it no matter what. This will either be really funny or suck. It can't be worse then Ghostbusters 2.

I'm only paying to see this if the original cast are the leads. We don't need flavor of the month actors screwing this movie up.

Otherwise I'm excited if they are going to be the lead characters.

We all know that the originals will be back some capacity (hopefully throughout the film not just here and there) but I am just concerned as most are about the new Busters and who they could get that the public would “buy”. I for one would hope maybe getting actors like John Krasinski and possibly Paul Rudd (as long as he is not doing another Steve Carrell impression like “I Love You, Man”… just be yourself you're funnier than Carrell) would be the direction everyone behind the scenes wants to go. The new Busters need to be as real as the originals were in the first one… I bought seeing someone looking and acting like Murray as a Ghostbuster.

Whatever they do stay the hell away for worthless talents like that guy who does all the ****ty SNL Digital Skits, referencing Ghost Hunters (and shows like that) unless they are going to completely mock them then OK and make sure the jokes are funny and most of comedic (i.e. not damn fart jokes… this is Ghostbusters not some ****ty Aptow movie).

In the end I am sure they will ruin this part of my childhood much like Lucas raped the rest of it for me.

Moranis has retired from acting. He says he doesnt want to act anymore and lives off the money from "Honey i Shrunk the Kids".

From what i hear Rick Moranis is a complete ******* but since i don't personally know him it doesnt matter to me either way if he's in it. All i'm saying is that i'll be surprised if he returns.
