I am extremely excited about this movie i love the predator movies and the first avp i cant wait..... but give them more time to make it

Seems rushed! They don't even have a writer or director yet! This is a movie that will require a lot of FX, so 14 months doesn't seem like enough time. It'd be different though if they already had a script, director and all the casting and pre prodution done like, now.

No Rodriguez and a fast track to Summer 2010? It looks like Fox isn't about to change it's money-grubbing ways of making movies anytime soon. Sad. With Rodriguez at the helm, this would've been awesome!

D amn really hoped Rodriguez would have a little more input on it. He could make a great Predator movie even in the time alloted.

So that release date pretty much confirms that it is going to be PG-13,doesn't it?
Posted by: Deadmildred on April 24, 2009 at 17:45:29
Not much competition. Shyamalan's movies blow these days.
Posted by: chris on April 24, 2009 at 18:52:55
what competition? that dumb ***** Shyamalan can't make a decent movie to save his life, he's pathetic!
Posted by: Swish on April 24, 2009 at 18:58:02
Don't screw this up! Make it a hard R rating. We want action and blood and guts. The movie will sell just as well, if not better than if it were PG13.

Another Predator or another M. Night film. Hmmm, I don't know which one I DON'T want to see the most.
Posted by: Wes on April 24, 2009 at 23:00:42
This would be a great idea, but I don't think it will live on without the Master of Special Effects & Make-up Artist's himself, Stan Winston-R.I.P

They need to have a writer that actually has a bit of passion for the previous 2 predator films. Those AVP movies completely screwed up and contradicted the whole predator mythology. It was as if the writers for those films hadn't even seen a predator movie before. I'd love to see a predator 3 as long as its done properly.

i know thier making a third alien vs predator and alll this time they better make it rated r with blood and guts the whole shbang **** avpr it sucked balls i was ashemed to even see the movie

The Last Airbender, as in Avatar, from Nickelodeon? I have got to see it, as I fear a reboot of Predator will be bad and shows Hollywood have no new ideas. These ideas worked in the past because they were new. Plus a reboot is kinda risky.
Posted by: paul on April 25, 2009 at 13:23:25
this should be called predator 3 please don't remake it the 1st film was brillent
Posted by: Yuck on April 25, 2009 at 14:40:37
Why?
Why are they doing this?
First Robocop, now Predator? It's not as if either of those movies were ancient black & white films with primitive stop-motion special effects or trans-atlantic accents. They're really not old enough to justify a remake.
Are the people who make movies just COMPLETELY out of ideas? I think they must be. It's lame, because all that talent and creativity isn't being used to take us, the viewers, anywhere new and interesting. Think about all the cool stuff we're missing out on. What if, instead of making Star Wars, George Lucas did a modern-style remake of Forbidden Planet or something? If that were the case, one of the coolest films of all time would never have been. Remakes can suck it.
It seems that the gap of time between the original and the inevitable remake is getting smaller and smaller. How many more years before the Matrix remake? The first Matrix came out in '99. That's TEN WHOLE YEARS, so I wouldn't be surprised if the remake comes out in the next 5 years.
What happens when the gap between the remake & the original reaches zero-time? Will "new" films simply stop, or will they start the cycle over and remake the remakes?
Posted by: Ryan on April 25, 2009 at 15:31:40
this will suck the big one and i agree robocop should not be touched either. Just make robocop 4 and predator 3. Do not reinvent it!
Posted by: Ryan on April 25, 2009 at 15:36:48
this is to "Yuck" new movies no longer exist anymore lol everything that comes out today is a remake of a remake of a remake. I can't wait for the day for something original to arrive. that shall be the day..
Posted by: DarkSeid on April 25, 2009 at 15:57:48
why does it have to be a reboot? why cant it just be a new predator movie? i get trying to remake movies that crapped out when they were first made but remaking movies that were good and did well seems pointless. there are some that come out good though so i guess we will see
Posted by: Nick on April 26, 2009 at 01:06:51
the first predator did crap out... it only made 25 mill which was about the same amount it took to make the film.. I loved the predator movie but i would like to see what direction they would take this in so for now it has my interest
Posted by: ico on April 26, 2009 at 16:22:52
I've been hearing about this for a while and that it will take place in the middle east.

... I'm not sure you can 're-boot' the Predator franchise. I've never seen it has having a linear timeline. There's plenty of room to play around within it.
But if they F U C K with the look of the Predators... I will make heads roll.
I just wanna know how DanOz thinks the AVP's messed up the Predator mythology?? -WHAT- mythology?? All those Comic Heroes vs. Predator vs. Aliens???
I thought AVPR, while being poorly written and shot (the lighting was too dark)... I thought the portrayal of the Predator was awesome. I felt it really showed a Predator in action.
If they're doing another Predator ("Predators"?? Like.. "Alien" and "Aliens", huh?)... they should really make it about the Predator and not the people trying to kill them... er ... i mean, getting killed by them.

Hmmmm. With Rodriguez not involved as a writer or director, this could actually turn out better than I thought. Keep the hack away from the creative side, and they might have something. Though does the PREDATOR franchise really require a "reboot?" It only consists of two movies (four if you count the AvP flicks), and it would essentially just seem like a third film in the series.

if it turns out to be another sequel they should have arnold back. anyway here is what the story should be.... predator crashes on earth in some jungle government finds out. they send several teams to catch this thing all teams unsucessful they hire arnold to go capture the predator, him and several other men, only because he has expirence in fighting these creatures. after some flashbacks he decides to accept the job. and then go kill the ugly mother ****er lol what do you people think?
Posted by: ghostfaceslasher15 on July 19, 2009 at 09:00:35
