Who cares anymore?

The series has lost its luster, but I have to commend it for being able to tie each film into the previous ones in a somewhat inventive manner.
Posted by: Space Monkey on April 29, 2009 at 14:02:45
Seemed rather pointless to me after the 2nd one. I have only seen 1 and 2 and don't plan to see any of the others. I really loved the first one though, 2nd was just ok for me. I mean, how many times can you get surprised by an "unexpected" twist ending?
Posted by: super_fly on April 29, 2009 at 14:03:28
i give them congrats for coming up with new traps every year but it just needs to stop.
Posted by: ico on April 29, 2009 at 14:17:02
I like them because they atleast try to make a smart movie and try to surprise the audience unlike most movies in the genre nowadays.

While I love horror movies and will defend movies like Saw, Hostel, and pretty much anything else in this genre, the Saw franchise needs to stop. They just are not good anymore. I use to be there opening weekend and "expirence" with other like minded fans, now, I just wait for dvd.
Posted by: Joe on April 29, 2009 at 14:54:10
I agree. They need to stop....for now.
Maybe in 10 years, Rob Zombie can do a re-make of the original where all the characters are white trash hillbillys.

this series really is awful now (IMO). i held off saying that for forever because i hadn't seen 4 or 5 until recently and NOW i can say with conviction, STOP!!!!! lol.
part 5 is one of THE lamest movies i've ever seen (Prom Night is tied with that "title". LOL). i'll check this out online or a rental simply because i LOVE Shawnee and i watched SCREAM QUEENS and i want to see how Tenedra (the winner) does!
also, LIONSGATE would rather do SAW 467 than a sequel to MBV3D?!! that's cheesy.

@Joe
Damn thats real House of a 1000 traps and ways to be surprised that you died.
Posted by: Ryan on April 29, 2009 at 17:31:42
Well I hate these movies except for the first one but I have a question is there a man actually wearing jigsaw's face in the fifth one? or was that just a poster to get you hyped for it?
Posted by: kidshamrock78 on April 29, 2009 at 17:54:54
NO it was just a poster

joe all of us know youre secretly on Zombies nuts! stop swinging little monkey.

Really wish people would stop paying to see these. These sequels won't stop until that happens. The fact that the last one made $30 million in its opening weekend is pathetic. Can't understand why anyone would fork over $10 per ticket to watch another one of these.
Posted by: paul on April 29, 2009 at 21:27:58
and Mr Bateman will be the first in line to see Saw 6.
Its real brave to talk the talk making yourself and everyone think u know what your talking about.
Only thing pathetic is you Bateman, your the one who gives horror movies the bad rap with your negative comments.
Stop moaning like a girl and just SHUT UP!!!
Posted by: H on April 29, 2009 at 21:31:58
Why do people pay to go see these movies? like myself? They come out HALLOWEEN week and people are in the mood to see some sick and nasty deaths. What are the Saw movies known for........sick and nasty deaths.
They may not have that deep thinking, great script combo...but all you want around Halloween is a horror movie and that is what you get. you can set your calender today cuz you know it's coming.
If its Halloween, it must be Saw!
also, H2 looks friggin bad ass and i wish that came out around Halloween instead of friggin Labor Day weekend....come on
Posted by: djblack1313 on April 29, 2009 at 21:40:22
paul, i respect the fact you might like these movies but THIS IS NOT A FAN FORUM/SITE for the SAW movies. if you don't like the "anti" SAW comments, don't read the comments section. simple as that. and IMO the SAW franchise is VERY tired. part 5 is one of THE lamest movies i've seen (it's tied with the abomination PROM NIGHT 2009).
Posted by: FABRICIO =) on April 29, 2009 at 21:45:31
i might see it...
only for the fun of it... =)
Posted by: Ryan on April 29, 2009 at 21:47:58
Mr. Bateman I couldn't agree with you more these movies should come to an end. I still feel that they should have ended it at the first one but that is the way it is.

Saw VII is in the works. Get ready for it October 22nd 2010.
Posted by: Movie_Jamie on April 30, 2009 at 00:12:08
I'm really tired of these...If it's the only horror movie out on Halloween, they could release 10 more profitable installments. That movie Trick 'r' Treat or RZ's H2 would do well against this on Halloween. I wish they had the balls to compete with this.
I hope the next one tanks so the writers/ directors can move on to other things. They are a talented bunch. I would like to see a different horror movie out of them. I've seen the 1st, 2nd & 3rd...basically seen all they have to offer.

Movie_Jamie
As much as people like you or i would like to see Trick r' Treat, i completely believe that it would bomb in theaters.
And just so you know, the series really kicked off after Saw 3.

I think it's a brilliant series. And as long as it keeps making money I say make the movies.
I can imagine myself years from now watching them one after another, which is what they are for.
They are genius in my opinion. One finishes you just pop the next one in and it continues from the very location the previous movie ended.
I VOTE KEEP MAKING THEM.
Plus it's a good Halloween tradition.
Posted by: Ron Ferrell on April 30, 2009 at 06:57:58
It's about time they revealed a story for part six.
Posted by: John Doe on April 30, 2009 at 11:59:05
I'll admit the series went sharply down hill after the second movie but I think now it's just a good campy Halloween tradition. I say do one or two more and call it quits.
Posted by: bryan on April 30, 2009 at 13:12:13
I wasn't planning on watching any after the third one. I couldn't rememeber what happened in the third one. But recently I saw the fourth and fifth. The saw movies are the only good horror movies these days. Everything else is cheap and poorly written.
