Horrorfest 4 Will Debut When?

It appears After Dark's Horrorfest is a go. Sources tell us the fourth edition of the horror event has penciled in a January 29, 2010 release date. I'm still receiving mixed word on what's on tap for this year. All signs point to a year of acquisitions, as opposed to last year in which a few original productions were tossed into the mix. After Dark's "eight films to die for" will cap a busy month already loaded with Daybreakers, Cirque du Freak and Legion.

@ Eo:

I kind of agree with you. Most of these Horrorfest movies look and feel if they were made on a budget of about $4.00. I do agree that Mulberry Street was good. I also liked Penny Dreadful, and the Death of Ian Stone as well. But my personal favorite was the Abandoned, the haunted house movie set in Russia with pigs running through the house. Very creepy! However I did not know that Daybreakers, Cirque du Freak and Legion were going to be 8 movies to die for? Things might be looking up for Horrorfest. Isn't Cirque du Freak a kids book? Or young adult book or whatever?

Based on past Horrorfests, the movies won't be anything special and the theatrical release will be so minimal as to become almost nonexistent.

i watch all of them hoping that they turn out good..ill agree with you krypto..the abandoned was pretty good..i forgot about that one..i just dont see the point of the horrorfests..i remember when the first set came out they advertised it as things "we've never seen before" and "too extreme for regular release" but each one including the few good ones have been the same old **** we see in every movie..i think that was a bull**** move.. not a single one of them have anything going for them we havent seen in countless horror movies before..maybe im just being negative but when i saw butterfly effect 3 was on last years list i lost the little faith i ever had in these and will probably not watch any of the 4th.
Out of 24 movies now only good ones:
The Abandoned(AD1)
Mulberry St(AD2)
Perkins 14(not great but the only decent on in AD3)

when i've only enjoyed 3 of 24 movies i think its time for me to throw in the towel

Penny Dreadful sucked IMO. Deaths of Ian Stone was a superb story. Perkins 14 had a good plot line but it just didn't deliver. From Within, Autopsy and Slaughter I also enjoyed. I've seen some of the Horrorfest 2 movies on Sci-fi lately. For the most part though, they are the low budget b-movies of the new millennium.

Perkins' 14 was excellent. Voices was vague and overall dumb, I liked the end of Slaughter. I still need to see Autopsy, Broken, et al.
