The Official Trailer for Dark Country

Release details and a trailer have arrived for Dark Country, Thomas Jane's directorial debut. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will premiere the film on DVD on October 6. Now, this one was intended for 3-D. Jane did shoot it that way from a script by Tab Murphy. It's unknown if it will be presented that way in any screenings.

Starring Jane, Lauren German and Ron Perlman, two honeymooners rescue a mysterious car crash survivor in the Las Vegas desert. But their decision to save the man becomes increasingly regrettable when he turns on them, forcing the newlyweds to do the unthinkable. In a blur of paranormal chaos, the couple must take drastic measures to cover up their actions from the local police, ultimately leading each character to an inescapable fate.

I normally don't like posting negative comments, but this one deserves it.

Why didn't they just call "The Hitcher 2: The Awful Prequel to a Decent Movie"?

No wonder this going straight to DVD.

Story looks pretty much formula.

The direction looks pretty good though.

I'm a fan of Jane (if you haven't seen Stander, go. Now. Rent it.), so I have to check this out. Looks like a decent blend of noir and horror. Here's hoping his directorial skills match his acting ability.
