Pandorum Bumped Back Another Week

Source:Overture Films
August 17, 2009

Dear Pandorum,

See? That's wasn't so hard, was it? Once you were set to open in early September. Then you had to get greedy and claim September 18 as your release date, even though Jennifer's Body was opening that weekend, too. We're glad to hear you're now set to debut on September 25.

Good call.

You don't face any horror competition, however, you are up against Bruce Willis in the Surrogates. Still, horror fans now have a genre flick to look forward to every Friday of September. Thanks.

Sincerely,

ShockTillYouDrop.com

I think they were better off where they were. Or go back to labor day weekend. This film looks great but releasing opposite Surrogates is far more dangerous than Jennifer's Body.

In fact. How about October 2nd? No real genre competition there.

So frustrating. The film looks terrific (compare advertising materials to Jennifer's Body. Seriously? Which looks better?) and they are going to end up killing it by chickening out.

Jennifer's body is a small two door that might bump them. Surrogates is a truck that will just run them over.

I want to see this movie in a big way, but if they can't go back to labor day, they should just shift to a more open weekend somewhere.

Yea this is definitely a good idea, not that much competition and more people will check it out. Good call!

I want to see this more than Jennifer's Body and Surrogates, although I will not see Jennifer's body I will eventually watch Surrogates, maybe DVD. But I think Rupert P. is right, this should not be with Surrogates. Sci-fi does well the first week or so. And although Pandorum is sci-fi it is more horror and people who like sci-fi and not horror, will go to surrogates instead. I don't know how smart this move was.
