A Pair of Notable MPAA Ratings

Source:MPAA
September 2, 2009

Fresh off its run at FrightFest in London, the Night of the Demons remake has received an R rating by the MPAA for "bloody horror violence/gore and language throughout, some sexuality, nudity and drug use." Excellent. Right now the word is that Seven Arts is looking at releasing the film sometime in January or February. Read our set report and swing on by our exclusive production blog.

Meanwhile, Saw VI's rating is in and it's, you guessed it, rated R "for sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, and language." Lionsgate opens the sequel in theaters on October 23.

Keep an eye on our film database updates for future MPAA ratings and more...

"I would like a trailer w/a Red Band on top"

I hope it's just a joke pushing back this movie until next year.It deserves a October release THIS YEAR!As a fan of the original I command you to release it.

Couldn't agree more! Why do studios insist on avoiding horror releases in October like the plague? Unless it's a Saw, yech!, of course. The list is endless of ridiculous release dates for horror the last decade. Great news on the R rating though.
