Buffy Makes Comeback in New Medium
November 16, 2009
When Joss Whedon's
Buffy the Vampire came to an end, fans had to make due with "Fray" (a futuristic take on a slayer) and "Buffy" season eight, both released through Dark Horse Comics. There doesn't seem to be any hope for a feature film based on the successful television show (although the producers of the original movie with Kristy Swanson want to do a reboot). So where is the future of the Slayer heading now?
Motion-comic webisodes.
Sci Fi Wire received word that casting has begun for vocal actors to participate. It appears the series will pick up after the comic books and will see the return of a number of characters including Faith (Eliza Dushku won't be back, but casting director Jeff Shuter is seeking someone like her).

This is absolutely ridiculous. I LOVE the entire Buffyverse (including Angel) and I wouldn't be against new characters and stories being brought in for a new tv show, with only special appearances by people who used to be on it. Seriously, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan aren't doing anything. Anthony Head should be able to make time for a couple episodes. James Marsters and SMG both should have enough time to squeeze in a few episodes. The ONLY ones I'd believe are too busy would be Boreanez or Dushku...and she's pushing it.
Make a new series, new cast, new stories. Equally as fun. DO IT!...it wont get done.

@Robert
All that sounds nice, but one thing I saw wrong with your post. Alyson Hannigan is on How I Met Your Mother, so she is doing something.

I want to see the cast of BTVS continuing the storyline. Comics and webisodes with sound-a-like voice actors just doesn't interest me.

Well, seeing as how Hollywood churns out turgid crap each year and/or forces us fans to lose great works of genre that have potential by stiffling creative freedom, then why the hell not just buck the trend and do a movie that wraps up both Buffy and Angel? Hell, 20th Century Fox did another X-Files movie last year; didn't see a lot of people stand up and notice... My point is, if they can bring back old tv shows in the guise of a movie and gladly spend the money on it, or force down our collective throats some other sad example of the current american cinematic movement, then please pray tell, where the hell is the Buffy movie?....

since when is kennedy caucasian? is my definition of caucasian wrong? i am really not trying to be controversal or cause any problems, i just was thrown for a complete loop when i read her description and now i feel all confused. was i supposed to be registering kennedy as a caucasian all of this time? wow. perception is really not that reliable!
as far as what the actual article is about, i would give these episodes a try, but i can't promise that i will like them.
