Hey first! Finally
Posted by: Robert on November 24, 2009 at 17:59:34
Not bad at all. I'm waiting to see how they make him look in the movie though, either it's the toy or the picture but his skin looks a little too pale to me. Might just be me then again too. Either way I'm excited for the movie.

theninjaraven, is your life really that empty that it's an achievement to write first on a board regarding an action figure? Thank you, I feel less pathetic!
Kudos on the puppy remark btw.

I have seen the trailer and the movie looks good but freddy blows in this. his voice sucks!!!!!
Posted by: robg on November 24, 2009 at 19:17:56
His one line of dialogue in the trailer for a movie that's still 6 months away sucks? Might be jumping the gun there a bit, buddy.
Posted by: blah on November 24, 2009 at 19:19:32
Boring.
Posted by: ib on November 24, 2009 at 19:28:37
Good call robg plus the director said that the trailer was created prior to re editing which includes voice overs and cgi. He admits that the face and voice are currently in production. Totally jumping the gun and by the I work in marketing and the movie studios make the trailers not the director.

I am almost bummed that NECA got the rights back, that means no more Mezco Cinema of Fear. They were doing a fantastic job making figures based on obscure Freddy looks, which NECA never bothered with. Oh well. I guess from now on everything Freddy that's sold will be this Voldemort looking Dr. Suess character in a Freddy suit...

Looks horrid. He looks more cute than scary.
Posted by: Yeqon on November 24, 2009 at 20:31:17
Doesn't have the scare factor the old Freddy did. I almost feel sorry for this guy! I feel like he should be on 'Maury' talking about how bad his life is to a sympathetic crowd. I kinda want to take him to the zoo......

I thought Freddy was a burn victim, not a frog.
Posted by: Winchester on November 24, 2009 at 20:43:15
Ever seen a real burn victim, you insensitive prick Winygarde? Clearly you need to get out in the world more.
Posted by: Al on November 24, 2009 at 20:50:55
He looks like the monsters from Sleepwalkers.
Posted by: JMC on November 24, 2009 at 20:53:05
His face looks more like clay. Should have make him look like Darkman or Two-Face from the Dark Knight. This just looks bad
Posted by: djblack1313 on November 24, 2009 at 20:54:55
i love this new look. Englunds FREDDY looked no better. sorry guys. and for crying out loud get over the "voice" thing. he's not supposed to sound like he works on the radio with this smooth sultry voice!!
Posted by: A.J. Hakari on November 24, 2009 at 20:57:56
I didn't know Jackie was playing Voldemort! Nice!
Posted by: CCR on November 24, 2009 at 22:02:56
um, yeah...looks like sh t...now the movie has to be really good to make up for freddy looking like a burned guy smiley
Posted by: Brad on November 24, 2009 at 22:10:53
As a former journalist, I have seen plenty of burn victims--photos AND the real deal--and I gotta tell everyone here and now, this version of Freddy is definitely closer to what a true burn victim looks like. The lips often burn completely off, leaving the mouth area looking somewhat drawn in and...well...not there, and the skin around and under the eyes is usually very waxy looking. I think it's utterly pathetic that people are calling this look "cute" and "looks like a puppy." I'm willing to bet if YOU looked this way, you wouldn't think it was so f#@!* cute. This reimagined look is TEN times more disturbing, IMO, than a guy who looks like he's got pizza cheese smeared all over his face. But, of course, you can't please anyone these days. Everyone is an expert on everything, even movie makeup. "Cute." Wow. Unbelievable.

Now this is what Freddy should look like. I love the previous make-up jobs but this is the directon they should go.
He looks nothing like Voldermort either. Sorry.

Winchester & Brad -
Yes I have. I've cared for a victim. It's too smooth and too stylized, like all the crap that comes from "Platnum Ruins".
Keep in mind, this is also A TOY and NOT THE REAL PIC.
We are commenting on that. The toy. When the pic shows up, THEN we will get in too the insensitive debate. As for the original, the make-up was based of real burn victims. (At least the first one before it became a franchise. Check out your old Fangoria's for the story...)
And Winchester- You call me insensitive, but the not the film-makers exploiting burn-victims as killers? Or using it to get people to see real life burn victims as something horrible and as a nightmare?
Posted by: Wyngarde on November 24, 2009 at 22:32:46
I'm also glad Freddy's clothes did burn up. Just him. His clothes and hat are nice and pressed!
Posted by: Nunya on November 25, 2009 at 00:01:33
I'm not going to make any judgments on what he looks like in the movie based on the toy but why isn't his free hand not burned up? And as for the guy saying his clothes aren't burned up...you think maybe that's just the way he wants to look? He can look like anything he wants to he's the Dream Master...Demon...Whatever..you get my point.
And your comment about saying this movie is insensitive to burn victims because it has one that is killing people is as stupid as those people who say that the Sopranos is insensitive to Italians because of a small group of bad ones portrayed as mobster or Cubans portrayed as bad because of Scarface. What a dumb comment. On the other hand to be calling somebody/something that actually kind of looks like a real life burn victim cute or whatnot is insensitive. Use some goddamn logic.

Does he have two different eye colors?
