There were rumblings a few months back that shooting had begun on a remake of Meir Zarchi's

Who the hell would want to remake that piece of **** movie? I'm sorry but I find zero enjoyment in a 90 minute horror movie where roughly 45 minutes or more is spent with a woman being raped by three guys. There is no enjoyment there and no value in any fashion to be gained.
And I say this as a horror FAN. And at least Last House On The Left (either version) has the sense to steer more toward the horror in a relatively similar situation instead of being Eden for people with rape fantasies. Both LHOTL versions are good films. ISOYG is definitely not.

I wouldn't lump Chad Lindberg in with the unrecognisable actors. He had roles in Supernatural, Buffy and The Fast And The Furious.
"business up front, party out back!" - Linberg rockin the mullet in Supernatural.

I agree with Jonesy. I recently watched the original and it was pure garbage. Sure you can check it out if you're curious, but I found no redeeming qualities. The acting is bad, the cinematography is bad, and to top it off it wasn't shocking in the least. It's hard to get emotionally involved when the characters are so wooden. It's obvious the filmmakers were trying to shock viewers and in the process they failed to make a good film.

You're right Doug. Totally missed that. Updated!

I actually came across this video when I was about 12 and it totally blew my mind to watch some guy get his junk sliced, but when I watched it as an adult (As I paid more attention to the story rather than the sex and slash) I found it to be just "ok". I wonder how far will this film go, so I'm very curious about this remake.

Jonesey you need to get your facts straight..i think we may have seen differnt versions of the original left house on the left...pretty sure i watched girls go down on each other, beat each other, and one get violently raped while the guy had blood all over his face..and a chick bite a guys **** off...
If you didnt think any of that was examples of "a 90 min film with 45 min of rape and torture" your an idiot..
i also hated the orignal and have no desire to see a remake either..but the 2 movies in question are basically the same, only differnce i really saw was that in one of them the parents do the killing..

I actually think the fact that the first movie sucked makes it a good choice for a remake, think of the remakes we see today, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, the originals of those were awsome films but were still remade. Here we have a movie that could have potential as a cool revenge film that was done poorly the first time around, so who knows maybe something good will come out of this. And I do agree with Jonesy on the Last House on the Left, both films (past and present)were excellent.

Yeah, if they're going to remake horror movies then please do the bad ones like ISOYG. It can't possibly get any worse.
That's what the whole remake business should be about: making terrible films into decent ones. There's so many more bad movies to work with than good ones, you'd think they'd be champing at the bit. It's also probably easier to acquire their rights.
Remake all those bad 80's Halloween ripoffs.

I disagree that Last House On The Left was a good film, when if fact it is exploitation crap, nothing more. Thank God Wes Craven learned how to make proper films.
