New Director Signs to Creature from the Black Lagoon
Source:LA Times
December 15, 2009
Universal's Creature from the Black Lagoon has found a new mate in director Carl Rinsch.
The L.A. Times, in a double-whammy scoop, reports commercial helmer Rinsch (and one time contender for the Alien prequel) is supposed to do 47 Ronin for the studio, but he has also been tapped to helm the long-gestating remake.
Gary Ross penned the script, but Universal is starting over in the story stage.
Meanwhile, the man who was supposed to bring the Creature back to life, Breck Eisner, is moving on to The Brood remake, which solidifies our story here that a director was close to being announced.

This is too bad. Eisner had some good ideas in the interview I read. Now we're starting over with a new script and everything. This could go south real quick!

Don't screw this up. The original 'Creature...' is a classic. Don't go all Rob Zombie on the movie and eff it up! Please! Take a que from Joe Jackson.
