Camelot Entertainment Group and MasiMedia are in production on Unearthed: The Hellraiser Saga - an exhaustive documentary on the Clive Barker-created franchise that thrives across various mediums.Stefan Hutchinson is directing and I'm writing this beast of a project that will run about 90 minutes but will contain hours and hours of bonus features that delve into the Hellraiser films, comics and more.
Today, we're happy to announce that Clive Barker is involved in the project and creating a new Cenobite for the documentary. Being Barker's first Cenobite in over a two decades to make it on film, this retrospective will include the complete transformation of a Cenobite from conception to form.
"This retrospective will be different than the ones we have done for other horror franchises, because the creator, Clive, will be imbuing the project with original and exclusive artwork that will help tell our story. This is something everyone is excited about," says producer Anthony Masi. "Clive's work in the horror genre shares a unique vision that has many complex layers."
Production on Unearthed: The Hellraiser Saga has begun, so stay tuned for more announcements.

This is going to be awesome! It's great to see Barker involved in Hellraiser again in any capacity.

I really want to see more Hellraiser movies! I don't care whether they remake them or not, I don't think they'd necessarily need to, because the early ones were really good, and some of the others were interesting, but that series became SUPER lame after a couple movies, which is a shame. Those cenobites are really hot, though. I would waay rather see an excellent new Hellraiser movie than another Friday the 13th or Halloween.

Wait, did I read that correctly? You're writing the doc, Ryan? If so, congratulations. That's fantastic. I've always considered the Hellraiser franchise to be one of the best and classiest (yes, even the later sequels), so I cannot wait to see the documentary.
Now, where is The Scarlet Gospels already?

Documentary about HELLRAISER series? And ones are also coming for NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and PYSHCO. I'm watching "HIS NAME WAS JASON" right now. These are awesome. They must make more, for as many franchise horrors. I'd love one for CHILD'S PLAY, HALLOWEEN, updated TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and please someone must do a documentary for the 10 PUPPET MASTER films.
