Ti West Recalls Devil Days for Innkeeper

March 19, 2010
Writer-director Ti West is reuniting with the production outfit behind his chiller The House of the Devil for The Innkeeper, a new horror film announced last month.
Shooting, West says, begins in April and May and will find him returning to the Connecticut hotel he resided in while making Devil. He says the film is based on a lot of his experiences staying there.
"This is more of a group of people," West tells FearNet. "So it will be similar in the sense that there will be these really intense, slow-paced scary scenes that are hopefully suspenseful and scary. But there will also be a lot of relatable humor, and my feeling is that if you like the movie, you would watch it again because of the people you like in the movie, not because of the scary stuff. But I do plan on it being 'scary-scary'."

This man is a bloody legend, he's doing what I want to do when I crack into the film industry. He totally gets it.

I loved House of the Devil but I absolutely abhorred Cabin Fever 2. But I can give him a pass on that since HoD was totally awesome and brutal and totally different than what is going on today in horror.
I have high hopes for this one and anything he does in the future.

I thought I read that Ti had purchased the rights to some real-life haunting based on a book of some title that completely escapes my mind, but nonetheless, was prolly about - as I say - haunting(s).
Wonder what Ti's thoughts are on the CABIN FEVER 2 release.
