Where the Hell is Trick 'r Treat?
Source:Ryan Rotten
April 5, 2008
Sources around the web yesterday reported Michael Dougherty's directorial debut, and celebration of all things Halloween, Trick 'r Treat was dumped by Warner Bros. The Legendary Pictures production was initially slated for an October 2007 bow but was unceremoniously bumped.
ShockTillYouDrop.com was granted a peek at a master list of films (direct-to-DVD and theatrical) currently waiting in the wings for release at WB. Sure enough, Trick 'r Treat was no where to be found thus further confirming Legendary may be seeking a new distributor for Dougherty's anthology.
Set during our favorite time of year, Trick stars Brian Cox, Leslie Bibb, Dylan Baker, Rochelle Aytes and Anna Paquin who all learn harsh lessons about the ancient rituals of Halloween and why they must be upheld.

WTF! Seriously, Warner Bros. suck to let such a film slip through their fingers. We'll be lucky to see it THIS year!

Oh sure lets let a good movie go get dumped, but let's let The Lost Boys 2 go by victoriously!

This makes me sick. It also makes no sense. Do Warners really not realise how excited horror fans have been to see this movie - and what a rare opportunity they have in having a movie that's actually ABOUT the Halloween festival, of which there really aren't many, outside of more family-oriented stuff like 'Hocus Pocus' and 'Monster House.'
How can they have such a problem with 'Trick 'r Treat?' It can't be a concern about the quality of the film... since when have studios ever been bothered by that?! That said, I have heard the words 'Hard R' and 'dead children' associated with this, so perhaps that's a factor.

What a shame, and yet ****ty horror movies get away with making it to movie theaters, like Shutter for example.

Trick 'r Treat is a fun movie! It deserves to be seen on the big screen as soon as possible! It's a fun and fresh flick! I hope it gets picked up for all to see!

Maybe horror fest '08 or '09 will pick it up? Hopefully, I've been waiting and waiting to see this movie. It looked so awesome in the previews...

I was so excited to see this last year, I've been waiting for almost a year and no word yet. As a true horror fan I want to see this movie whether it be on the big screen or DVD. Hopefully Warner Brothers will get the ball rolling
