As far as I know, if a remake does happen, it will have no Ash. Which I think is at least better than having some other guy wielding a boomstick.

A remake in this day and age just wouldn't work. I mean, that's like saying an Indiana Jones in this day and age would work, and while one MIGHT, this one didn't. Please, don't let there be an Evil Dead ever come out that is the quality of Crystal Skull, please!

Evil Dead without Ash sucks. Evil Dead with some guy other than Bruce playing Ash is a criminal offense. :( Bring on the Chin!

Get Nicholas Brendon to play Ash. Also, they already did a remake of sorts of Evil Dead, it was called Evil Dead 2, and it had essentially the same story with some changes.

An Evil Dead Sequel Dammit! Not a remake, with Ash returning(Campbell)!!! Go back to cabin in the woods man! You know you want to!!! Show these guys that a sequel can be made after 20 years. Ignore Army of the Dead, continue from Evil Dead 2 or even re-invent it! Not remake!

Oh my goodness.
Please, if you do a remake of this, you HAVE to include Bruce Campbell somehow. A Cameo might not even be enough. Without Bruce involved in some capacity, it's just not the same!
Why not make him the star and do an Evil Dead 4, taking place when Ash came back from Medieval times??
I guess nothing is sacred anymore. Freddy or Jason remakes I can see because there have been SO MANY of those movies, but I thought Evil Dead was maybe sacred enough with a huge cult status that it was untouchable. I guess nothing is out of reach now for the writers who don't seem to be doing anything creatvie at all after the strike.
Please Sam Raimi, if you read this board at all or someone who works for you does, please reconsider this. If it's not a sequel starring Bruce Campbell, please don't reboot something that was great to begin with.

An Evil Dead 4??? No-one loves the franchise or Bruce Campbell in this role more than I do, but please - let it rest. We werent born in a barn with the other primitives here ... ED2 was the remake of ED, and Army of Darkness, while having some very humorous moments, just wasn't up to par. ED2 was penultimate. Rest on the laurels for this franchise as it stands, a monument for its time.
I would love to see something more from this world, but not something as crass as a remake. Give us something fresh - not a rehash and certainly not another AOD. I mean, the XBOX games were almost better than AOD.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was awesome! If they do make another Evil Dead it should be a sequel with Bruce Campbell as Ash again. I haven't seen the first two movies but I've seen Army of Darkness and it's awesome. I think if Harrison Ford, at 65, can still do action, Bruce can too. Bruce is probably only in his forties or early fifties. And he did that movie My Name is Bruce.
