Uwe Boll Kicks Up a Storm

November 28, 2008

The notorious Uwe Boll has begun shooting the horror thriller The Storm with Steve Bacic (Andromeda), Lauren Holly (Dumb and Dumber) and Luke Perry (The Fifth Element). Boll is working from a script by by Tim McGregor for Brightlight Pictures.

Shawn Williamson and Dan Clarke are producing with executive producer Andreas Olavarria. The Storm films in and around Vancouver, BC until mid-December.

The Storm concerns a stranger named Silas (Perry) who emerges from a devastating storm seeking refuge with Tom (Bacic) and Gillian (Holly) on their farm. As they struggle to deal with the upheaval and disaster left in the wake of the storm, Silas may be the only one who can help Tom, Gillian and their young son survive. But as the family comes to terms with what they have lost in the storm, they are threatened by a danger that could prove even more catastrophic than the forces of nature.

Brightlight Pictures has collaborated with Uwe Boll on a dozen movies including House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and most recently In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale starring Jason Statham.

It'll make a billion dollars, too. Why? BECAUSE I AM UWE BOLL AND I HAVE SPOKEN.

Better than that retarded Michael Bay.

Where's my assistant with my soda? UWE BOLL WANTS A SODA. I HAVE SPOKEN.

...

Hello? Where'd everyone go?

...

I'm so alone...

Does Brightlight pictures have a film deal with Boll that they have to satisfy? Otherwise, they are the single dumbest film company to keep collaboarting with this guy. I mean, just a quick glance at boxofficemojo.com shows that he has not made a single profit on any of his films except for House of the Dead. And that was a measly profit at best. Even if you like his movies, the business sense of him continuing to make films is beyond me.

Uwe Boll is such an idiot. I don't understand how people give him money to direct a film. If I was actor I would have money clause in my contract for any film with him in it. Due to the fact his films make none...And the actor usually has to give the money back

Actually, Uwe Boll has a tax exception or soemthing, BASICALLY, he makes profit from having the movies be FLOPS.
That's the reason he gets getting funding to the make the movie and that's the reason why they keep getting worse and worse.
I mean by sheer probability factor he should've made a good movie...
BUT
He intentionally makes them crap!... WHY? The reason I mentioned that's why.

This movie sounds like it could be promising. Not familiar with Boll's work, but the plot to this movie sounds good enough for me to give it a watch...

how does uwe boll keep getting work... ??

Posted by: ico on November 29, 2008 at 02:14:11

I keep trying to give Uwe Boll a chance but every time i see one of his movies it's like he throws **** in my face. I'd like to throw a rock at his in return.

Brightlight films only distributes his films. The only reason he keeps making movies is because he has over-seas investers who finance his films.

Posted by: Neliel on November 29, 2008 at 08:52:16

why do they keep letting him make movies?

Posted by: talontroy on November 29, 2008 at 09:56:49

will someone please take this idiot and lock him far far away from anything related to the making of a film. his movies if you can call them that are some of the worst trash ive seen in the last 20 years, my wife actually rented me "in the name of the king" her intentions were good of course because im a jason statham fan but omg what a piece of utter trash. statham must have needed a pay check bad and this had ray liotta in it too in what has to be the most over the top cheesefest of his career....stop the madness boll-movement for the love of all thats holy

Posted by: ico on November 29, 2008 at 19:23:30

If Uwe Boll can get into the business and keep making movies than i have no fears that i can get in to.

Posted by: Alex on November 30, 2008 at 11:36:11

they closed the german tax loop. it boggles the mind how he gets financing.

Posted by: Zach on November 30, 2008 at 16:03:16

Who wants to bet that they closed the tax loop BECAUSE of Uwe Boll? :P

I hate uwe bol, he ruins everything he is attached too. He produces crap, and ruins great videogames by making them into movies that suck hard core. I would pay to see some one kill him in the boxing ring, punch to the chin and snap his head back like a gd pez despencer.

WAIT............

Uwe Boll's still a director? God, why can't someone just tell him to STOP MAKING MOVIES?! He D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-S everything he touches! Heck, he even sounds like a complete idiot.

Whomever keeps giving Uwe Boll money to make movies needs to be shot. As for Luke Perry. he refuses to go back to 90210 but he'll star in this crappy director's film? His agent also needs to be shot!
