Poe's Raven Flies Again

Source:Variety
January 6, 2009

FilmNation, a newly born production company, is going to produce The Raven with another entity, Endgame, financing.

Scripted by Ben Livingston and Bionic Woman's Hannah Shakespeare, the story has nothing to do with Edgar Allan Poe's narrative. Instead, it picks up in the final days of the author's life and finds him being drawn into a serial killer investigation.

The Raven is being overseen by FilmNation's Aaron Ryder whose credits include Donnie Darko, Memento, Monster and The Prestige. Quite an impressive resume. We'll keep you posted when a writer and director are attached.

I am intrigued. It takes a new production company to come up with an original idea. That a shame, but hey I'm not complaining.Any "New" ideas is a good thing in my book.
