Promo for CBS' "Killer" Series Harper's Island

Source:CBS
January 19, 2009

CBS gets in on the horror fun with an original series of its own, and it doesn't have a "reality" spin like a certain CW program now on the air. The show's called Harper's Island (we've mentioned it fleetingly in the early part of '08) and at the helm is veteran stunt coordinator and director Craig R. Baxley who has spent some time in Stephen King territory with such televised fare as Storm of the Century, Rose Red and Kingdom Hospital.

Set against the backdrop of an island wedding off the coast of Seattle, the story is a "10 Little Indians"-inspired murder mystery that was once described to be in the vein of Scream. View the television promo below and you'll see a number of other inspirations.

Baxley's not the only one with a horror history on board the show. In front of the camera you've got Katie Cassidy starring. She enjoyed a good run in Supernatural and starred in Black Christmas. Then there's Elaine Cassidy (The Others), Richard Burgi (Hostel: Part II, Friday the 13th, Cameron Richardson (Rise, Open Water 2), Gina Holden (Screamers: The Hunting, AvP:R), Jim Beaver (another Supernatural vet) and many other.

Harper's Island kicks off on April 9th.

Looks sweet but we all know how horror tv series end...I bet its gonna get cancled. Couldn't sci fi get it? Why CBS? I hope CBS gives it a chance, atleast let it finish out the first season. The last TV show I followed(that wasen't reality tv) was Fox's Reunion and those bastards canceled it, it was very successful but because it wasen't making as much money as the O.C. they yanked it off the air.

I'm glad we may be getting something worth watching here.

That horror reality show on CW is horrible. I couldn't sit through it 3 minutes. It's so annoying.
